Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) 

Introduction

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your Boostility account. By requiring not just your password but also a second form of verification, 2FA helps protect your account from unauthorized access.

Enabling 2FA

Step 1: Log into Your Account

  1. Go to the Boostility login page.
  2. Enter your credentials and log in.

Step 2: Navigate to Security Settings

  1. Once logged in, go to your account settings by clicking on your profile icon in the top right corner.
  2. Select Security Settings from the dropdown menu.

Step 3: Enable Two-Factor Authentication

  1. Find the Two-Factor Authentication section.
  2. Click on the Enable 2FA button.

Step 4: Choose Your 2FA Method

You can choose to receive your 2FA codes via:

  • Authenticator App (recommended): Use an app like Google Authenticator, Authy, or Microsoft Authenticator.
  • SMS: Receive codes via text message (note: this method is less secure than an authenticator app).

Step 5: Set Up Your Authenticator App

  1. If Using an Authenticator App:
    • Scan the QR code displayed on the screen with your authenticator app, or enter the provided key manually.
    • The app will generate a 6-digit verification code.
  2. If Using SMS:
    • Enter your mobile number and click Send Code.
    • You will receive a text message with a verification code.

Step 6: Verify Your Setup

  1. Enter the verification code generated by your authenticator app or the SMS code you received.
  2. Click Verify to confirm.

Step 7: Save Backup Codes

  • After enabling 2FA, you will receive backup codes. Store these codes securely; they can be used to access your account if you lose access to your authenticator app or mobile phone.

Logging In with 2FA

  1. When you log in, enter your email and password as usual.
  2. After submitting your credentials, you will be prompted to enter the verification code from your authenticator app or received via SMS.
  3. Enter the code and click Submit to access your account.

Troubleshooting

  • Authenticator App Issues: Ensure your device's date and time are set correctly. If the code is not accepted, try generating a new code in your app.
  • Lost Access to Authenticator: Use one of your backup codes to log in, or contact Boostility support for assistance.

Disabling 2FA

If you wish to disable 2FA:

  1. Navigate to your Security Settings.
  2. Find the Two-Factor Authentication section.
  3. Click on Disable 2FA and follow the prompts to confirm.
